Apply for a Charity Donation from Watford Rotary Club

Supporting Our Local Community

Watford Rotary Club is proud to support local charities, voluntary groups, and community organisations that make a positive difference to people living in Watford and the surrounding areas.

Each year, thanks to fundraising activities and the generosity of our members and supporters, we are able to make charitable donations to worthwhile causes that align with Rotary’s mission of service above self.

If your organisation could benefit from financial support, we invite you to apply.

Who Can Apply?

We welcome applications from:

  • Registered charities

  • Not-for-profit organisations

  • Community and voluntary groups

  • Schools or youth organisations (for specific projects)

Priority is given to organisations that:

  • Operate within Watford or nearby communities

  • Deliver clear, tangible benefits to local people

  • Can demonstrate good governance and financial responsibility

What We Support

We typically consider funding requests that support projects aligned with the values of Rotary International, including:

  • Community wellbeing and inclusion

  • Health and disability support

  • Children, young people, and education

  • Poverty relief and hardship support

  • Environmental and sustainability initiatives

Please note: We do not usually fund ongoing running costs, political or religious activities, or individuals.

How Much Can You Apply For?

There is a maximum limit of £2000 for a single donation, but most donations range from small grants of £250 for specific items or projects to larger contributions for well-defined community initiatives.

We encourage applicants to be clear about:

  • The amount requested

  • How the funds will be used

  • The impact the donation will have

How to Apply

To apply for a donation, please complete our Charity Donation Application Form and include:

  1. Details about your organisation

  2. A brief description of the project or need

  3. The amount requested and intended use

  4. Any relevant supporting documents

  5. Deadline for submission is Feb 28 2026

If you are unable to access the above form, please email David Silverston watfordrotary@btinternet.com for a pdf copy of the application.

What Happens Next?

  • Applications are reviewed by Watford Rotary Club members

  • Some applicants may be invited to briefly present their request

  • Decisions are normally communicated within a few weeks

Successful applicants may be asked to:

  • Acknowledge Rotary’s support

  • Provide feedback or updates on how the donation was used
